Has anyone ever changed an LCD screen on a phone? Are they usually plug ins like computer componenty, or soldered in place?

Just broken the screen on my SE K800.. which is why I ask... Sad

Oooh is it a good phone? Just upgraded to the K800i with carphone hoarhouse ... got a good deal ... won't get it til next week tho Oh Well

I'm afraid I know nothing about the screens ... Confused

Yes it's a great phone. Do buy a clear hard cover for it though (not cos of my problem..) the camera slide tends to... slide.. in your pocket and can make the phone 'crash' needing the battery took off and replaced.

Great phone though, and good camera. Battery life is 3-4 days if you dont kick the erse out of the games and camera Happy

My old phones screen was held in place with a ribbon cable, its fiddly but can be done.

Dunno about yours tho, sorry.

It's not likely to be soldered. Mostly due to production demands. Toughest job will probably be working out how to get it apart.
