If the phone is out of contract, and you originally had the contract, the company should unlock it for free

during office hours, log onto the o2 website and go through the support live chat

as you owned the phone, they will unlock it for you there and then

DO NOT MENTION IT WAS JAIL BROKEN!!!!

Hi, Your iPhone has been locked to O2 network that is why it is not accepting your new SIM card. You need to unlock it from network restriction. You can unlock an iPhone safer and easier using remote unlocking service. You can get the remote unlocking service for an iPhone from http://www.simpleunlocking.com/apple/rs16wp8/ at affordable cost with easy unlocking instructions. This is a permanent unlocking method and doesn't require a jailbreak too. Good luck.

or just do a hard reset and it works...

GG run on O2 regardless of phone locking to O2 as they run the same network

Dave sorted it back in Feb 2012
