Iknow it's winter, I know no-one's riding much but - just post something now and then so we know everyone's still alive?

And have a drink with me!

No I didn't say a drink ON me!

Good grief I thought it was just my family who were nutters - my stepdaughter did LEJOG this year with the Deloitte Ride Across Britain. I hope you're doing it with a big organisation, Sam said a lot of people dropped out and she would never have managed it if she's had to pitch a tent and make her own meals. They did it 9 days - most of them pouring rain.

I expect the Fall will be out on odd days weather pending and all that.
I've been a bit quiet of late, still very much missing my recently departed dog, still struggling with the clocks going wrong this time of year.
A glass of port would be very nice thanks

Haha.... It's late spring down here in Oz, but going by the weather you would not think so.

No its solo, aiming for 40 miles a day, so around 21-25 days, I'll mostly stay in pubs or b&b but no alcohol for the duration. I'm doing it for charity. As for when it'll be May/June 2019, currently even with the cold weather I'm averaging 20 miles a day on the bike, 5 on 2 off (weekends) as thats when the morons are on the road (bike and car). i'm doing it that way as everyone seems to be doing the south/north route and I want to avoid them.

Still rising every day! Just not for pleasure.

Got a new helmet recently - Nolan n87. Best helmet I've ever had!

Also bought a jetwash - makes washing the bike down after it getting filthy can be done in an hour instead of 2. Worthwhile investment.

Be careful with that jet wash, I've always washed my bikes with one but hand washed the wheels and stuff close to the calipers/wheel bolts, I wrap them in clingfilm while washing.

I'm still here BG!

Finished my superduper commuting job at the end of September so have just been riding for fun since then

Start working again next week (for a week before starting properly in Jan) and have chosen a job with a more sensible commute of only 120 miles a day...

The bad news is I'll be using the North Circular every day, the good news is I won't need to go on the M25

Hi Katie, how's things? You may be interested to know that I'm planning to open up a VFR section for the forum... Given the issues that Bikers Oracle has gone through (and is still going through) I was wondering if we might get a few refugees...

Hey Graham

Well, if you can make the subs last longer than 6 weeks, reckon you might pick up a few strays! Things can always go wrong but refusing to reply after taking someone's money is a grim way to do business.

Spent more time on the US forum but they do get a bit emotional sometimes...

Yes, it seems as if the forum owners have just given up and don't care any more. Taking people's money and giving nothing in return is not the most attractive business model.

Agree about US-based forums. Everything turns into drama very quickly. Have they not heard of a stiff upper lip for heaven's sake...

A RS VFR bit?

Sounds daft doesn't it all those caps. But I'll join even though I don't ride anymore. Bikes are my passion!
