So there I was sat outside a pub in StOuen, Jersey, supping a fine ale and enjoying the moment with good friends after a fairly long ride for small island, when the strong waft of petrol floated by. A few of us had just filled up, so thought nothing of it, but it was getting stronger as the minutes passed. One of the Jersey lads went to investigate and came back to tell me that my bike was leaking petrol at a fair old rate. Fuck!

The usual suggestions of chemical metal and alraldite were brought to the fore so headed off to the local auto parts shop for some stuff. After a quick look around we couldn't find anything suitable to make the repair.. We asked the bloke in the shop and he pointed us to this stuff

Q-Bond.. Never heard of it, but apparently it's the mutt's nut's, so took a punt. Being Jersey, everything is more expensive, but the cost of £15 seemed like a small sum compared to the alternatives.. For one, there was no chance the bike would've been allowed on the ferry leaking like that.

After we'd bought the kit we headed off to a friends garage to sort it out. Nothing in Jersey is very far to travel to, but thankfully his place is relatively close to where we were staying. Tank drained and taken off, small amount of prep and give this stuff a try.
Fark! It's brilliant. The easiest tank bodge/repair I've ever done. It was so quick and easy that I keep checking it to make sure it's worked. Set in virtually no time and sealed the hole good and proper. Sprinkle the filler powder over the area, drop the glue on and it's done. No mixing, no waiting for it to go-off.. Sold within a few seconds.

I for one will be getting a kit to stick in the bikes tool roll. It's fookin awesome!

Let's face it, you wouldn't go to a nurse to get good advice on a problem with a Falco - you'd choose an Engineer or a mechanic...

just hope its available outside of Jersey. Sounds like a 'must have'
